What Closet Hardware Are Available
Most homeowners and their families feel as though it is necessary to take a shovel whenever they venture into that unknown, uncharted territory known as the closet. No matter how hard they try, closets just will not remain organized and neat. This is where closet hardware can be a great asset.
Shelving is the best way in which to start organizing closets. The supports are usually very easy to install, and can be positioned for easy access to the shelving surfaces themselves.
In fact, some closet hardware, such as that used to create shelving, can serve dual purposes. Supports can sometimes double as hanging rods or can be positioned in such a way that shelving can rest on one portion of the support, and hanging rods can be attached to other parts. As long as the supports can accommodate the weight of shelving and hanging rods, this is a great way to conserve space and equipment.
Organizers may also be able to "multi-task." If an organizer has drawer space below a flat surface, it may be possible to add shelving to that area. Closet hardware may not even be necessary, as shelving can possibly just sit on top of the flat surface. Again, as long as the organizer can handle the extra load, then one more organization problem has been solved.
Closet hardware can be purchased at hardware stores, department stores, or online. There are even people who make their living by coming to one's home, observing the closet, and presenting their ideas for organization. If the homeowner approves, the organizer supplies the closet hardware they prefer to make the magic happen.
Effective Uses For Shop Vacuums
Shop vacuums are vacuum cleaners which are designed for more "heavy-duty" cleaning than vacuum cleaners that are used inside the home. Shop vacuums are sometimes referred to as "wet-dry vacuums" (if indeed they have that capability), or just "shop-vacs."
This does not mean that shop vacuums cannot be used inside the house. Because they are designed for all surfaces, especially very hard or deeply textured ones, they can be used practically anywhere they are needed. Further, most shop vacuums are mounted on a wheeled base, which make them very portable.
Shop vacuums can be especially useful in the kitchen, particularly if there has been a large spill. If the machines are considered "wet-dry" (in other words, the vacuum attachment can come in contact with liquid without the operator suffering electric shock), then shop vacuums can be used to vacuum up a liquid spill that might otherwise require the use of every available absorbent article in the house.
It would not be surprising to find enterprising homeowners using shop vacuums to clean up after an egg has been dropped. Anyone who has ever had the "privilege" of chasing a slippery egg and its contents all around a floor or counter might very well find him or herself utilizing the machine for just this purpose.
Dry material, such as very gritty foods (grits, corn meal, salt, or sugar) can be cleaned up instantly, without one having to worry about filter damage. Shop vacuums are designed with strong filters and filter covers; therefore, they can easily handle such substances.
